

Let the Book Bugs Bite! Last May, Wesley Elementary School in Middletown invited the community to its annual Scholastic Spring Book Fair, which featured a special camping theme, Camp Read-a-Book. The Book Bugs Bit!

Mystery readers, including a CT state trooper, a Middletown firefighter and a paramedic read books throughout the day.
Wesley School also featured two local children's authors, Laura Driscoll-Taft whose titles include The Bravest Cat: The True Story of Scarlett, My Brother the Knight and George Washington Carver, and Joyce Powzyk, author of A Little Lemur Named Mew, In Search of Lemurs, and many other titles. Ms. Driscoll-Taft read and signed books from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Ms. Powzyk also read and signed books from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Raffles of the authors' autographed titles occurred throughout the day.
Clifford the Big Red Dog was also on hand 
at the fair meeting and greeting visitors.
Refreshments and beverages were sold and donations benefited Alex's Lemonade Stand for Pediatric Cancer Research.
